Youtube is god's gift to bloggers. Just type in a link and it fills up quite a bit of the page and you can take the credit for someone elses hard work and humour. Anyway now for some music.
Interpol - The Heinrich Maneuver
The new Interpol single! Interpol are one of the few contemporary popular bands that I stil get excited about. Even though we're always waiting for them to pull out something of the calibre of Obstacle 1 it just never seems to happen. That said their 2nd album was still very good. What can I say about this song? Well it sounds like Interpol. Lazy journalism on a blog shocker.
Melt Banana - Heiwaboke Crisis
Melt Banana are a Japanese band that make very fast power pop punk music for the type of people that spent their adolescent years lilstening to Green Day and now only listen to bands that make music which involves 12 layers of drums or embrace lofi experimentalism. Not that they sound like any of that though, they're like DAT POlitics with guitars. The friendly clerks of Rough Trade reccomended their new album (Bambi's Dilemma) to me and I really like it. I could of chosen any of 12 songs that over a minute long off the album but after much deliberation I chose Heiwaboke Crisis
Holy Fuck - Lovely Allen
Finally we have the brilliantly named Holy Fuck. Listners of the White Heat Podcast will recognise the amazing Tone-Bank Jungle. Here's a track off what I think is their latest EP. Ideally you should listen to whole thing toget just for the way 'Lovely Allen' merges into the next track 'The Pulse' so there's an incentive for you to go buy it legally. What does it sound like? Like a slightly dancey guitar band doing a post rock song.
Another post coming in a few days. I have some really great demos lieing about but I just need to get permission from the various bands to put their material up. Oh yes and...
